I’m not saying this will happen to everyone! And part of the trick is just knowing that jazz is a pretty big term that contains a lot of sub genres, so if you are familiar with the artists, you’ll have a good idea of what you’ll be in store for since they do vary alot.
I’m partially sharing this because I’ve run into this instance a couple of times, where someone isn’t really a fan of jazz, and then I take them to a club like dazzle, and they tell me it’s one of the coolest shows they’ve ever been to. If you are a fan of jazz, I’m sure you have heard of and probably even attended a show at dazzle, but for those who haven’t, it’s definitely a great spot to have dinner, enjoy some great music, and experience a great communal listening environment. I’ve played and performed at Dazzle often, and wanted to recommend it for anyone interested in a new spot.
